June 25, 2011
By Appointment Only
The Giles County
Historical Society will be hosting Quilt Documentation Days to
photograph and record the maker, place, date, design, owner(s),
and history of Giles County quilts.
This is being done not only to
preserve the quilt's history for future generations of your family, but
also for the use of future quilt historians and researchers.
Participants
are invited to bring 1 quilt to the Historical Society that was
made in Giles County to be
photographed, measured, and information collected about the
history, ownership, and design of the quilt.
Participants will receive a label to
be affixed to each quilt indicating their participating in the
Giles County Quilt Documentation Project.
After the documentation day,
participants will receive a packet with the information
collected for their own files.
